A quick update from night time in my area.
This story just happened about 40 minutes ago. Some kid were playing firecracker near the grassy field just behind my house. For minutes, I heard it and didn't care about it. But then, there was this weird sound. It was like the sound of rain. Weird because when I looked outside, the sky was clear. That made me suspicious. I looked a little further to the back of my house and my hunch was right. The grass, which is more like elephant grass, was set on fire.
It was close to my home. In fact, just few metres, about 4 or 5 metres from the wall of my home. I got to my rooftop to get a clear view and it was serious. I got down fast then ran to the scene. I had to help them to extinguish the fire with everything we had until the firefighters come. We tried with buckets of water and this woods which are used to build up a building.
We were covered in smoke, choked, cried, but we had to do something before the fire could do more serious damage. Good thing we did it. We extinguished the fire in 30 minutes. Well, some of them were still damping the grass to prevent the fire became big again when I walked back home.
I got home and 10 minutes later, the firefighters came and they are still damping it by the time I wrote this journal. Well, I had to look at them from my rooftop again and now I'm smelling like the smoke.
How's that for a good deed!
Those darn kids! xD
